Boys Not Allowed: what happens

This is a love triangle squeezed into one flat. Ava, the narrator's girlfriend, has a best friend named Camilla, and Camilla is also his stepsister, a situation he says has been causing trouble for two years now. Ava is the one he loves, and he tells us as much. He also confesses that Camilla is difficult to overlook, and she is well aware of it. When Ava sets up a film night, she spells out the rules and banishes him to the bedroom.

The laughs mostly come from Ava's rule and how quickly it falls apart. She guards the kitchen, Camilla vouches for him, and by minute twenty of the movie Ava has fallen asleep on the sofa, which the narrator says she always does. After that the mood drops to whispers and plotting: two grown stepsiblings, a girlfriend dozing close enough to hear, and a pledge to stay quiet. Episode 1: Out cold after twenty minutes

Ava declares it girls' night and shoos her boyfriend away, and Camilla waves him off with a playful "bye, step-bro." Narrating, he lays out his problem: Ava is his stepsister's best friend, he is in love with her, and he still finds Camilla much too attractive. Camilla, meanwhile, makes it clear she noticed him spying on them both.

Later on he heads for the kitchen, and Ava instantly protests that he is not allowed in, until Camilla tells her to calm down since he just wants some water. For now he is sent back to the bedroom. Then, exactly as expected, Ava falls asleep on the sofa twenty minutes into the movie. Camilla says he is allowed in now, and when he asks what she means, she tells him to come and see, sits him down and assures him Ava won't wake.
