Nate and Ben rent a flat together, and at weekends Ben's girlfriend Sadie makes it three. She has made up her mind about Nate: he is rude and arrogant, he wanders about in nothing but a towel, and he voices the thoughts most people are too polite to share. His favourite one is that Ben is a sweet guy who leaves her bored, and that deep down she knows it.

Sadie says she wants Nate out of the flat, Nate says sweet is not really what she is after, and Ben, shouting from the bedroom, appears not to notice any of it. The Cuckold tag suggests where the triangle is leaning. At this stage it plays more like a sparring match than a seduction, with Nate the self-satisfied instigator and Sadie claiming, slightly too often, that she cannot stand him.

Worth it if: you like chemistry that hides behind insults and a triangle in which the boyfriend notices nothing.

Episode 1: Paper-thin walls and a lot of attitude

The morning after one of Sadie's sleepovers, Nate opens with a remark about how thin the walls are and how little last night convinced him from the other side. She tells him to be quiet and says she wishes he would just move out. In voiceover, Nate concedes that she thinks he is the worst. He tells her he likes Ben fine, but Ben is dull, and she knows that perfectly well.

Sadie calls him irritating; he insists she secretly enjoys it. When Ben shouts for her from the bedroom, Nate gets in one more jab at him. Ben then asks whether Sadie can stay the whole weekend, and Nate says yes without any argument. On her way out Sadie warns him that tonight might be noisy again and that he is not allowed to get jealous. Nate has the final word: if Ben ever stops being interesting, she knows whose door to knock on, since he will still be awake.
